ComEd HVAC Rebates:

ComEd, the electric utility company serving Chicago and northern Illinois, has offered rebates for the installation of energy-efficient HVAC systems, including central air conditioners, air-source heat pumps, and smart thermostats.

Nicor Gas, the natural gas utility company serving the northern Illinois area, has provided rebates for high-efficiency natural gas furnaces, boilers, and smart thermostats. These rebates encourage homeowners to upgrade their heating systems to more energy-efficient models.

  • ≥ 95% AFUE furnace and smart thermostat: $200
  • ≥ 97% AFUE furnace and smart thermostat: $275

Inflation Reduction Act Rebates:

The Illinois EPA Office of Energy will be responsible for administering two residential rebate programs under the Inflation Reduction Act: the Home Energy Performance-Based, Whole House Rebates or Home Efficiency Rebates (Section 50121) and the High-Efficiency Electric Home Rebate Program or Home Electrification Rebates (Section 50122).

These programs aim to provide rebates for energy-efficient upgrades in residential properties.
